Mel grew up in a horticulture in Germany, where she learned everything about flowers, gardening, soil and sustainability.

Nature was always her best friend.

As a child she loved strolling through open meadows and drawing creatures.

Later she studied design and worked very succesfully as a character designer for german and asien companies,

Once a friend gave her a little sheep as a lucky charm which helped her to achieve her dream -

since than she is drawing sheep.

​

Mel always wanted to save the world.

As soon as the sheep are sold she donates a part of her income to the Michael Succow foundation, 

which works on the renaturation of dried peatlands.
